Green spaces are plentiful in Chagrin Falls. Here are some of the best parks and recreation areas in and around town.
- Bell Street Park
A pocket park located along Bell Street and Main, Bell Street Park is comparatively smaller than other parks in Chagrin Falls, but it’s got nice, unobstructed views of the upper Chagrin Falls waterfall. Bell Street Park also features an antique fountain, picnic tables for when visitors want to enjoy a nice meal out or simply relax, and a couple of commemorative memorials.
- Founders Field
Founders Field is a popular park among sports lovers and fitness enthusiasts. The park has a baseball diamond open to players whenever they wish to play, as well as two lacrosse fields. Head to the back of Founders Field and you’ll find a “secret” jump-off point that can lead you to a series of hiking trails that eventually lead to Frohring Meadows. Founders Field is located at Washington Street.
- River Run Park
Located along Solon Road, River Run Park is also a local favorite for sports lovers. Like Founders Field, it features a baseball diamond open to the public most of the time. For children, River Run Park has a couple sets of swings and a playground. You’re free to bring your furry friends at River Run Park, since it has a small bark park with a fence.
- Riverside Park
One of the larger parks in Chagrin Falls, Riverside Park sits on the banks of Chagrin River and has a children’s playground and picnic shelter. You can chill out with your favorite ice cream on hand, as Riverside Park is just a couple of meters away from a lineup of small ice cream shops. Additionally, Riverside Park is the place to be as it’s usually the venue for several local events, such as Art By The Falls and Blossom Time Carnival.
- Whitesburg Nature Preserve
Covering some acres of land, Whitesburg Nature Preserve was opened to the public in 1996. The land was formerly owned by Chase Bag Company, but today it’s a lush green space situated along the banks of Chagrin River.
What’s unique about Whitesburg Nature Preserve is its location. Here, visitors can observe both fast and slow-flowing segments of Chagrin River, the latter which is a habitat for local beavers. And speaking of habitats, Whitesburg also has a forest, a swamp, a bog, and a field where local flora and fauna thrive.
People visit Whitesburg Nature Preserve to simply relax and take in the scenery. It’s also a local sport for fishing. Whitesburg Nature Preserve is dog-friendly.
- Triangle Park
Aside from Riverside Park, local events and special ceremonies are also usually helped at Triangle Park in the village square. At its heart is a bandstand, perfect for when Triangle Park hosts summer concerts. Surrounding the bandstand are a network of paved walkways and well-maintained gardens.
